these are approx 5 years old. used few times a year when camping. only left out while camping hence the surface rust which doesn't affect the fully working performance. I have upgraded to air shocks since my wife is only light which meant she hardly got these to operate. I think you may be able to change inserts for lighter riders but I just went for upgrade. steerer approx 17cm
