This one could pass for new. If you're building a Centaur, Athena, or Chorus groupset, there is very little difference between them. They all have the same cage design, and will work properly with either a standard or compact crank. The only real difference between any of the four aforementioned derailleurs is a slight weight variation. I have not had all the models on the scale, but I doubt if there is even 10 grams of difference between the lightest and heaviest one. This one tips the scales at 98 grams! The lightest carbon Super Record derailleur was right around 74 grams, so less than an ounce lighter than this one. You won't have to worry about chipping the carbon or veneer, because the cage is steel. Unless you do something to this besides normal use, it should last a lifetime.
